Location: Seoul Garden –Maitland, Florida

Date of Visit: 07/18/2019

Florida Stuffed welcomes you to the first restaurant to be featured in Maitland, Florida. Korean cuisine has not been featured much on this site and that will change. This is one place I suggest you try, whether you are new to this particular cuisine or if you are looking for something a little better, more authentic. This restaurant sits close to Heratio Avenue and US-1792 but remained peaceful, even at lunch time during my visit. The atmosphere was relaxed, and overall service was good. I was joined by a friend on this visit and I will give her feedback in a moment but she was satisfied with the experience as well.

Seoul Garden stands out with service, fresh food and food presentation. I found myself a little out of practice using chop sticks but it was fun learning how to eat with them again. After a few bites of my food, I knew I would come back to visit this place again. Seating arrangements and decor made a comfortable dining experience. Korean food has a different flavor compared to other Asian cuisines so I always enjoy experimenting a little with this cuisine.

Accessibility: Seoul Garden is located on Heratio Avenue (westbound) near the intersection of US-17-92. Traffic can become heavy at this intersection in all directions during commute hours. If you are coming from any other direction than traveling along westbound Heratio, I would suggest you take George Avenue to Swoope Avenue to avoid traffic.

Customer Service: I was greeted upon entry and seated. Our server was very nice, helpful and attentive to us. We were checked on a few times during our visit. Our orders came out in less than fifteen minutes.

Dating Scene: This place offers enough in terms of food and comfort to keep any couple happy. Seating arrangements are comfortable for couples or groups. Even some of the meal selections are big enough for two people, which is convenient.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered the Bulgogi Box. This dish included thin-sliced beef, with cooked onions all served in their Korean sauce. This dish was accompanied by a portion of white rice, with kimchi and tofu. I avoided the tofu altogether as it ruins my stomach. The kimchi was fresh and I found myself in love with the beef after a few bites. The beef had great flavor, easy to eat and the onions were not overcooked, which was a good thing. My friend ordered the Dak Bulgogi Box, which included stir-fried spicy chicken with onions. She was happy with this dish. She commented good portion, and level of spice. Our orders came to $20.81 before tip.

Extras: You are approximately ten to fifteen minutes from the Winter Park Village (depending on traffic), and a couple of minutes from a Publix shopping center.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Forms of Payment Accepted: Cash or credit card.

Location: Havana Delights Cafe — Bartow, Florida

Date of Visit: 07/13/2019

Florida Stuffed welcomes you as July moves forward. This is the first restaurant visited in Bartow, Florida since late 2017. So it is great to have this town back on the map. Havana Delights Cafe is a name that speaks for itself. It sits in downtown Bartow and offers a comfortable dining environment. I have visited many Cuban restaurants along the way, each with its own style and own perspective of Cuban cuisine. This place did not fall short on a good food experience and once I walked inside, I felt I was somewhere else.

If you look around anywhere in this restaurant, you will find images, posters, and artwork displaying Cuban figures and culture. The service here was far better than expected and prices are reasonable all around. This place attracts a broad range of people and downtown Bartow is an active scene, which is a great thing for this place. Recommended and I will come back.

Accessibility: Havana Delights Cafe is located on East Main Street near the intersection of Broadway Avenue in Bartow, Florida. Parallel parking is available along Main Street and nearby streets. I parked along North Central Avenue without any issues. Traffic was light in the area at the time of my arrival, approximately 12PM.

Customer Service: I was greeted upon entry and seated. I was checked on a few times during my stay and I was given another drink to-go when I left. The restaurant is run by friendly people and it made me feel more welcomed. I was not expecting another drink when I left either. I received my order in approximately fifteen minutes.

Dating Scene: If you are looking for a laid back atmosphere with comfortable seating and good food, this place is one I would recommend. Downtown Bartow is also a nice place to walk around if you are able.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo or yellow rice with chicken. This dish included yellow rice, mixed with shredded chicken, onions, peppers and peas. This simplistic-looking dish was something memorable. This dish was very flavorful from start to finish and the chicken was always tender. The rice itself was fresh and spices were nicely balanced. Food presentation was good, and I was happy with overall portion. Along with an unsweet tea and a Cuban sandwich I ordered for a friend (when I left), my order came to $19.81 before tip. Their Cuban bread was great too.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Extras: You are within walking distance of downtown Bartow. You are also approximately fifteen minutes from SR 570 (Tolls) and twenty minutes from Interstate 4.

Forms of Payment Accepted: Cash or credit card.

Location: Christo’s Cafe –Orlando, Florida

Date of Visit: 07/07/2019

Florida Stuffed is on part-two of a short tour of the College Park area of Orlando, Florida. After being in the area a week ago, I was eager to check out the second planned restaurant. I have driven by this unimposing place countless times but it was nice to go inside, finally and check it out. Christo’s is a small and simple diner but it also gave me one of my best experiences on the Edgewater Drive stretch in a long time.

Christo’s fared better than restaurants I have previously visited in the area as this place balances good service, with great food. This place makes you feel comfortable as soon as you come through the door. Overall, service was very attentive, and you get a lot of breakfast options (and lunch) at very affordable prices.  Food quality was excellent. I indulged in a rather traditional breakfast but came out very happy with it.

Accessibility: Christo’s Cafe is located at the intersection of Edgewater Drive and Dartmouth Street in Orlando, Florida. Parking is available at the restaurant and there is parallel parking available further along Edgewater Drive. Traffic can become thick in the area during commute hours.

Customer Service: I was greeted and seated upon entry. My server was friendly and checked on me a few times during my visit. The rest of the crew was friendly and attentive to their customers. The gentleman at the register Mr Tim, was also really nice to speak with as I had a follow up chat with him. I received my order in approximately ten minutes.

Dating Scene: I would recommend this place for a date if you are looking for a simple atmosphere and easy surroundings. Open seating is available inside and outside. Seating arrangements are comfortable for couples or groups.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered their Country Fried Steak. This dish included a fried beef steak smothered in gravy along with two scrambled eggs, home fries and a biscuit. Along with my cup of apple juice, my total came to $10.52 before tip. You probably know I am a sucker for country fried steak and this place pulled it off quite nicely. The breading of the steak was crispy, the steak itself was easy to eat. The eggs and home fries were great, very fresh. While I love trying new things, this dish is always a fallback for me. Not everyone pulls off this dish correctly but I was very happy with it from start to finish.

Extras: You are within short driving and walking distance of the rest of the shops on Edgewater Drive. There is also a Publix nearby. You are approximately ten minutes from downtown Orlando and Interstate Four.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Quite China

Location: China in College Park — Orlando, Florida

Date of Visit: 07/02/2019

Florida Stuffed is starting off July 2019 with a stop to a Chinese restaurant in Orlando, Florida. It has been almost two years since I toured restaurants in the College Park neighborhood so a return was much needed. China in College Park sits at the small but busy intersection of Edgewater Drive and Princeton Street, which makes it easy to find but difficult to park at certain times of the day.

I visited this restaurant for the first time today, along with a friend. You will have her feedback in a moment. I found the restaurant to be comfortable, with a pleasant ambiance. The noise level in the restaurant remained very low despite it being at the intersection with traffic right outside the window. This place does not fall short in terms of good service, and food variety. Even though the restaurant itself was a pleasant experience, the food left much to be desired. This was kind of a first for me to say that on Florida Stuffed and in general for any Chinese restaurant I have visited in general.

Accessibility: China in College Park is located at the intersection of Edgewater Drive and Princeton Street in Orlando, Florida. Parallel parking is available in the immediate area. Traffic can become heavy in the area during commute hours. I had to park another couple of streets away, which was just a short walk.

Dating Scene: I would recommend this place for a comfortable date scene during lunch or dinner hours. Seating arrangements are comfortable for couples or small groups. Comfortable ambiance and low noise make it a good spot.

Customer Service: My friend and I were greeted upon entry and seated. Our server checked on us regularly and refilled our drinks without us asking, a definite plus for me. Our orders were brought out in approximately ten minutes.

Lets Get to the Menu: Even though I was with someone on this visit, there are not many pictures because we ordered the same thing. We each ordered the Triple Delight (Lunch Special), mine was ordered spicy. It features chicken, shrimp and beef with mixed vegetables with vegetable fried rice. We each had egg drop soup. I found the portion overall to be small. It made me feel like either I was too big to eat there or too hungry or both. The rice was a very small portion, and had a rather burnt taste to it. Some people do not mind that but it takes away from the flavor for me. I found the ingredients to be very fresh in the Triple Delight but I have never seen baby shrimp used in this particular dish. Usually I see jumbo shrimp. Even though I finished my plate, I still felt hungry after leaving. My friend stated that if she were to return, she would order something else. She was also questioning food portions. As for me, I would return here as well and I would be willing to try something else. Together our orders came to $17.91 before tip.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Extras: You are within walking distance of other shops and restaurants in the College Park district. You are approximately ten minutes from Interstate 4 and downtown Orlando.

Forms of Payment Accepted: Cash or credit card.

Location: Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe –Sanford, Florida

Date of Visit: 06/21/2019

Florida Stuffed is wrapping up the month of June with a visit to a German restaurant in downtown Sanford, Florida. After featuring another German restaurant a few months ago, I wanted to expand my palette even further. Willow Tree Cafe offers a comfortable dining environment with many authentic German dishes. This place is well-known among the locals and people that work in the area but for those of you that have never been here, you will get a recommendation from Florida Stuffed.

I took my experience with German food another step and went on a binge with their sausages. The staff was friendly, and attentive to other patrons. I did not have any contact with anyone other than my server but she was very pleasant and helpful with my questions on the menu. It gets busy here but you still have plenty of places to sit inside and outside. I enjoyed the background music here too. It definitely added to the experience. I arrived approximately 230PM, and remained approximately forty minutes.

Accessibility: Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe is located on East 1st Street between Magnolia Avenue and Palmetto Avenue in downtown Sanford, Florida. Parallel parking is available throughout the immediate area. I had to parallel park in a space further down 1st Street. Traffic can get a little thick during lunch time hours in the area.

Customer Service: I was greeted and seated upon entry. My server checked on me a couple of times during my stay and was friendly to me and other patrons she was checking on. She helped me with the menu and had my order out to me in approximately ten minutes.

Dating Scene: This is one place I would recommend for a date if you are looking to try something different. Open seating is available inside and outside. Seating arrangements are comfortable for couples or groups.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered the Oktoberfest Wurst Teller, which features a choice of two sausages from a list of eight sausages. I chose the Chicken Bratwurst and the Frankfurter, both of which were new on the menu. I ordered sides of Potato Pancakes and Spatzle mit Gravy. I sent the pictures of the food to a few friends while I was eating. I was getting mixed responses on presentation. To me, German food is all about the flavor and this dish had lots of it. The Chicken Bratwurst was an all-chicken sausage with a lamb casing. The chicken had a great flavor, nicely seasoned. The frankfurter was skinless and had a very fresh taste to it. Both were cooked just right, juicy, not dry or hard to cut. I would do both again. The Spatzle mit Gravy was better than regular Spatzle as the egg noodles had a brown gravy on top. Very touch to the egg noodles. The potato pancakes were great. They were a little hard around the edges but still enjoyable to eat. My total came to $16.04 before tip.

Extras: You are within walking distance of banks and other shops in the immediate area. You are approximately fifteen minutes from both Interstate 4 and SR-417 (Tolls).

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Plant City…For BBQ? Yep.

Location: Johnson Barbecue –Plant City, Florida

Date of Visit: 06/18/2019

Welcome to Florida Stuffed! June 2019 is continuing with a stop to a barbecue restaurant. This is the first place to be featured from Plant City, Florida. I am hoping to return to the area in the future to bring you more places to eat. The topic is barbecue and Johnson Barbecue delivers.

This is a popular spot among the locals and this place was recommended to me by a couple of friends in the area. This is a busy but comfortable place to eat. You get plenty of menu options and you can eat here on a budget as well. Very satisfied overall with service, food quality and the friendly staff. As a first time customer, it is nice to feel welcomed when I visit for the first time. Atmosphere is great for families or groups. You will also like my recap of the food…

Accessibility: Johnson Barbecue is located near the intersection of West Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and South Alexander Street in Plant City, Florida. Traffic in the area was moderate at the time of my arrival, approximately 630PM. Parking was a little crowded but I found a space quickly.

Customer Service: I was greeted and seated upon entry. My server was very nice and helpful in telling me of some of the options and specials on the menu. She checked on me a few times during my visit. My order came out in approximately ten minutes. The staff overall was friendly as well.

Dating Scene: If you or your date are hungry and in the mood for barbecue, this is one place I would suggest. Seating arrangements are comfortable for couples or groups.

Lets Get to the Menu: I was a little more reserved here than I am usually when I go to a barbecue spot. No three or four meat combos this time! On this visit, I ordered their Smoked Sausage. This dish may have seemed simplistic but it was great. I would enjoy this ten times over again. It features two sausage links (cut thin) with grilled onions and a side of brown mustard. I selected fried okra and apple coleslaw. The sausage had a mild flavor, with a nice hint of smoke, and the onions were an excellent touch. As a sausage lover, this passed the test. The side items require mentioning. I enjoyed both the okra and apple coleslaw. The apple coleslaw was sweet and creamy as I prefer it to be. I also ordered their banana pudding. Great dessert, very smooth pudding with whipped cream on top. Along with my fountain drink, my order came to $18.52 before tip. On the menu, you will find ribs, chicken, wings, turkey, pork, burgers, sandwiches, brisket and more. I would suggest a couple budget between $25-$40 here. This place caters as well.

Extras: You are approximately ten minutes from Interstate-4. There are some other shops in the area.

Forms of Payment Accepted: Cash or credit card.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Location: Humpavelli’s Pizza –Titusville, Florida

Date of Visit: 06/14/2019

Florida Stuffed welcomes you to Titusville for the second time this month. This pizza restaurant was recommended to me by a reader and after visiting, I recommend this place to you as well. I had a friend join me on this visit, and I will talk a little more about his take on this place further in this article. Overall, I was happy with my experience here. Food quality, options, and service were all good.

This restaurant may be small but it has a lot to offer. Even during lunch time, this place has pizza by the slice, by the pie, other specialty items, desserts and more. One thing I enjoyed here was how this place has their own spin on New York Style Pizza. The atmosphere was laid back with comfortable seating arrangements and ease of access to condiments, fountain drinks and clear view of their pizza case. This is a spot I would come back to next time I am in the area. We remained approximately one hour.

Accessibility: Humpavelli’s Pizza is located on Columbia Boulevard (AKA SR-405) in Titusville, Florida next to Target. Plenty of parking is available in front of the restaurant. Traffic was moderate in the area at the time of my arrival, approximately 1150AM.

Customer Service: My friend and I were greeted at the door. Orders are taken at the register. The cashier and the other staff were welcoming and friendly. We were checked on a couple of times during our stay as well. Open seating is available inside. Our orders came out in approximately fifteen minutes.

Dating Scene: If you are in the area looking for good pizza, I would recommend this place for a quick date during lunch or dinner hours. Seating arrangements accommodate couples or small groups.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered a rather unique item called a BBQ Roll. This is similar to a stromboli. It is a rolled pizza dough with chicken breast, ham, bacon, mozzarella cheese with barbecue sauce inside and on top. I asked for this item with extra cheese. I also ordered a Pineapple Roll. My order came to $19.53. The BBQ Roll was amazing. It had the right amount of ingredients, all of the flavors blended together and it was the perfect combination of my favorite meats. The pineapple roll was better than I expected. It was similar to my pizza roll but it contained pineapple, sugar and cinnamon topped with vanilla icing. I was glad to try this dessert. My friend ordered a calzone. It had sausage, ham and mushrooms with ricotta cheese. He finished it quite flawlessly. He mentioned he prefers his calzones very well done but he definitely enjoyed this one. He was happy with the service as well. On the menu, you will find pizzas, pastas, rolls, subs, salads and other desserts. This restaurant caters as well. I would suggest a couple budget between $25-35 assuming you order a 16″ pie with drinks and a dessert. This place also sells by the slice during lunch hours.

Extras: You are within walking distance of Target and several other shops in the same strip. You are approximately five minutes from Interstate 95.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Location: Alex’s Fresh Kitchen — Casselberry, Florida

Date of Visit: 06/06/2019

Florida Stuffed welcomes to a very special review. This restaurant is the first to be featured in Casselberry, Florida and is also in its grand opening. There is much to talk about from this small spot. I met Mr Alex himself recently and he told me he recently opened this restaurant. Awesome guy and great cook too. Be sure to arrive here early as their hours are from 7AM-3PM.

This restaurant is not your typical breakfast and brunch spot. You have some creative options made from scratch. If you are looking for healthier options, and vegan and gluten-free choices, this is a great spot. The atmosphere provides a comfortable and relaxed dining experience. With his parents involved in the kitchen, this place gives you that welcoming vibe that will make you visit again. I was very happy with the level of service, food quality and I am going to introduce you to a very creative dish in this article.

Accessibility: Alex’s Fresh Kitchen is located in Summit Plaza at the intersection of Sausalito and SR-436 in Casselberry, Florida. Traffic was steady in the area during my arrival at approximately 1140AM. Traffic can become thick during commute times. Plenty of parking is available along the strip.

Customer Service: I was greeted upon entry by Mr Alex. Orders are taken at the register. Open seating is available. I was checked on a few times during my stay by Mr Alex and other staff as well. It makes me feel very welcomed as a new customer. My order was brought out in approximately fifteen minutes.

Dating Scene: You should consider this place for a good date spot for breakfast or brunch. Decorum, and seating arrangements provide a comfortable dining experience for couples, families and/or small groups.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered the Mini Chicken Waffles. This was a very unique dish between the food presentation and lots of flavor. This dish includes mini waffles on skewers with cuts of lightly fried chicken, sitting in vanilla sauce, vanilla maple syrup, caramel crunch and garnished in chives. The waffles had a great amount of flavor, fluffy and easy to eat in one bite. The chicken was great, very fresh and moist. All of it mixed well with the sauce and the garnish. It was a nice balance of flavor and texture.  I also ordered a slice of their chocolate peanut butter cake. This was a different take on cake for me as it was gluten-free. Their desserts are all gluten-free and this exceeded expectations. The chocolate cake itself was moist, and the peanut butter  frosting added a substantial flavor making this cake very enjoyable. My bill came to $19.31. I also had a sample of cranberry almond cake, which surprised me as well. On the menu, you will find various breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, fresh made sandwiches, vegan selections including burgers and pancakes, steak, chicken and gluten free cakes, breads and pies. Based on prices, I would suggest a couple budget between $25 to $35.

Restaurant Cleanliness: No issues to report.

Extras: You are within walking distance of other shops and cafes in the same strip. You are across the street from a Planet Fitness gym. Nearest highways are 15 to 20 minutes away depending on traffic (SR-417 or Interstate 4).

Forms of Payment Accepted: Cash or Credit Card.
